Active member of CMMOTA, in practice since 2017! Becoming an RMT was my gateway into working as a health professional, the clinical experience I've attained from my practice has served as a wonderful foundation for me as a practitioner.
Using yoga as a tool to assist my mental health while in massage school instilled an inspiration to start teaching myself. I completed my 200 YTT in 2018, then my 300 YTT in 2023. Pranayama (breath work) is my favourite part of yoga, and I do incorporate some asana practice into my home care.
In 2018 I moved to Calgary Alberta to further my education as a health professional and became a doctor of traditional Chinese medicine through CITCM, graduating in 2023. Once my practice is active, I plan on incorporating acupuncture, herbal medicine, massage, and yoga to help people perform to their highest potential.
My goal is to help everyone from the seasoned to recreational athlete stay active while living an enhanced quality of life.
Any competition or race, know I'll always be rooting for you, and be there for you for any injury that comes up, as well as always encouraging and empowering you to train any new sport you're thinking about trying!
Movement and exercise are extremely important aspects of my treatment plans.
Movement and exercise doesn't have to be complicated.
Exercise is for everyone and everybody.
My treatment style could be considered "deep tissue" or "therapeutic," but my favourite word I've heard it described as is "productive," or as a "seek and destroy" treatment. I simply work within each individual's threshold, ensuring the treatment is both comfortable and beneficial.
You may be sore the following day, which is normal, but if anything you should just feel like you put in a good workout the previous day, not like you got in a motor vehicle accident.

My triathlon career started while in school for acupuncture, so making cost efficient nutritionally dense meals immediately challenged me when I realized I was eating over 10,000 calories/day! Oatmeal, yogurt, and rice are some of my favourite bases for food, as they can be really easily modified, and when cooking at home I can justify splurging a little bit more.
I am currently in the process of completing my holistic nutrition certificate through Pacific Rim College, and am looking forward to seeing what I can do with an enhanced education around nutrition. Food is fuel for the body, and I'm extremely passionate about trying to find ways to create ideas for people to make nutritionally dense food without breaking the bank. Food can be an uncomfortable topic, and it is my goal to ensure nobody ever feels judged for what they're putting into their body.
I briefly touched base training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in 2019 before moving to Calgary, however establishing a clientele in a brand new city meant cutting BJJ for a bit until I had my feet on the ground. I jumped back on the mats in 2021 when I needed a sport to cross train running with and have stuck with it ever since! In 2023 I scored my blue belt and have found an awesome supportive community that I get to train with.
I started running again for the first time since elementary school near the end of 2020, rediscovering my love for endurance sports. Running has always been something I loved, but I got really passionate about it after I ran 10k for the first time in my life on January 1st 2021! Not knowing how to train for a marathon, I eventually injured my knee and had to back off quite a bit, which began my journey learning about injury prevention in high endurance sports. After studying tons of Global Triathlon Network videos, I created a training plan for myself to run my first marathon, and got around the track placing in the top 10% overall with a time of 3H 24M 37S!
After running my first marathon, I decided to pick up swimming hoping I could get away with not weight training. Sadly, I was wrong, happily, I found another sport I love. After 12 weeks of adult swimming lessons, I joined a triathlon swim club to prep for my first IronMan 70.3, honestly just hoping to be able to get through the swim without drowning. Under the training of some amazing swim coaches, the swim turned into the easy part, and I'm now part of a masters swim club (Different Strokes Calgary).
Combining the disciplines of swimming, biking, and running into one big race is something that both blows my mind and challenges me in so many different ways. Running will always be my first love, but triathlon made my career as an endurance athlete more sustainable. Although I now have to do a bit more weight training to ensure my body's in good condition to be able to get around the track, the discipline behind training triathlon sparked a new drive in me I never knew I had.
